Deschutes River - Ladies Summer Steelhead Trip (Deposit)

Summer Steelhead Trip - Hosted by Lynae Axelson

Ladies! New to spey? No worries! This trip is designed for those looking to learn about spey and steelhead from the worlds best instructors and guides!

After checking into our beautiful vacation rental we will attend an Intro to Spey Casting Class led by world champion spey casters Travis Johnson and Whitney Gould. Relax that evening over a catered dinner at the house. Get a good nights sleep because bright and early the next morning we will head to river to spend the next 2 nights and 3 days swinging for steelhead!

We will spend 3 days floating the Deschutes River and 2 nights camped on it’s banks. Fall asleep (in your own personal tent!) to the sound of the rushing river and dream of chrome. Fuel up in the morning over a big breakfast spread. Along with three gourmet meals a day we get to enjoy snacks and appetizers.

One of the West’s true gems, the Deschutes is a first-class Blue Ribbon Trout stream, and one of the world’s finest Summer Steelhead destinations to boot. A day spent fly fishing on the Deschutes River is like a step back in time. The Deschutes winds through a high-desert canyon in Central Oregon with a rugged landscape straight out of a classic western film. The river flows quickly and broad, ranging from 180 to 220 feet across. Steelheading on the Deschutes is unlike anywhere else in the world—and ideal for fishing with Spey rods. The pursuit of Steelhead with only the use of floating lines is an everyday occurrence, with some even responding on skated dries.
